Welcome to pastdesigns.com. Past Designs is an historic landscape research and design firm located in Kennebunk, Maine. Since 1982, Past Designs has serviced a large number of state and federal agencies, nonprofit institutions, and individuals, providing land use history and management reports, master plans, National Register Plans, and historic and contemporary landscape design services.

    Past Designs is headed by Lucinda Brockway, an award winning landscape designer and preservationist whose reputation has been built over twenty-five years. Lucinda has been honored to work on some of the most prestigious historic sites. From Fort Ticonderoga to Historic Morven, in Princeton, NJ, her rejuvenation of these landscape legacies are visited hundreds of people each year. Her creative private residential designs, both large and small, have won their own excellent reputations.

    Recently, Lucinda published Gardens of the New Republic: Fashioning the Landscapes of High Street Newburyport, Massachusetts. Gardens of the New Republic features the respectfully and lovingly restored garden of the Cushing House and other gardens along High Street, said to have one of the finest collections of Federal architecture in the eastern United States.
